HOW iT aLL sTARTED...
Pastor Gelson and his wife, Shara-Dee, gave their lives to Christ in 2010 and immediately felt the call to ministry. As they grew in their faith, they developed a deep passion for evangelism, discipleship, and seeing lives transformed by the power of the Gospel. They faithfully served in their local church, taking on leadership roles in outreach, discipleship, and ministry development. But they knew God had more in store.
In 2018, with a burden for souls and a heart for church planting, Pastor Gelson and Shara-Dee were sent to pioneer Lighthouse Church in Oshawa.
Starting from humble beginnings, they labored in the streets, sharing the message of Christ and inviting people to experience God’s love. The first services were held in a small rented space with only a handful of people in attendance. Despite the challenges, they remained faithful, trusting that God would bring the increase.
As the church grew, so did the vision. Lighthouse Church became more than just a place of worship—it became a family. Through outreach events, discipleship, and a commitment to the Great Commission, the church began to establish deep roots in the community. Over time, more lives were touched, more families were restored, and more disciples were raised to take the Gospel further.
Today, Lighthouse Church continues to grow and thrive, filled with passionate believers who are dedicated to evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. With a strong foundation and a clear mission, we remain committed to spreading the Gospel, sending out married couples to plant churches, and making a lasting impact in Oshawa and beyond.
